Meet Monique
The importance of supporting staff!
Here at MMT we like to support our staff in different aspects of their lives, we understand that happy staff are driven to succeed in their career. As quoted by Black Dog Institute, we spend most of our waking weekday hours at work. We can spend more time with our workmates and clients than we do with our own families and friends. It’s important that we feel mentally healthy, safe and valued at work, so we can perform at our best and flourish in other aspects of life.
With that said, it shows how important a supportive workplace is, ensuring we understand the needs of our staff and keep communication frequent and open. We pride ourselves on great employee retention, with some staff staying with MMT for over a decade long.
At MMT we want our staff to produce quality work and research suggests that disengaged workers are contributing to the slump in productivity across the Australian business sector. So, we understand the importance of providing staff with support, and the opportunity to develop their skills, whilst encouraging a work life balance.
We’ll be sitting down with Monique, our Sales Support and Scheduling Manager, to discuss her health battles with Endometriosis, and her commitment to volunteering, watch this space!
Chatting with Monique.
We recently sat down with Monique, our Sales Support and Scheduling Manager to discuss her health battles with Endometriosis, and her commitment to volunteering.
Monique was diagnosed with Endometriosis 11 years ago. Endometriosis is a disorder where cells similar to the lining of the uterus, grow outside of it. With endometriosis, the tissue can be found on the ovaries, fallopian tubes or the intestines.
After being diagnosed with Endometriosis Monique said “I felt quite alone in living with this disease until I found the WA endo community. The people in that group saved me, educated me and supported me. Once I got my head wrapped around living with endo, I decided to volunteer for the group and help others.”
Six years later Monique is now a dedicated Board member at Endometriosis Western Australia and the Operations Coordinator of the EndoWArriors support group. Monique says “We have over 4 thousand members in our support group and offer free educational events throughout the year.”
We are proud of Moniques dedication and are lucky to have her part of the MMT team.
